Nigerian Man Causes Outrage After Posting Photos Of Female Circumcision On Facebook
A Facebook user in Nigeria posted graphic pictures of children being circumcised and he offered free female circumcision at his home.
On January 3rd,2018, the man, known as Alhaji Adebayo, uploaded the pictures, with the caption saying free female circumcision in Ilorin, Kwara State, central Nigeria.
Apparently, he studied Accounting and Audit in Kwara State Polytechnic. He performs the female genital mutation at his Ajere house, Alapansanpa compound Alore area, Kwara state, Nigeria.
He received criticising comments on Facebook from concerned Nigerians and they told him to delete the post.
The post has since then drawn the attention of enforcing FGM laws in all states in Nigeria. The Female genital mutilation (FGM) is illegal in Nigeria because there have been no conviction recorded yet.
The man posted on his Facebook account the next day, saying he had been visited by campaigners from anti-FGM groups.
